In the first half of this year, the total value of our country’s import and export is 19.8 trillion yuan, increased by 9.4% as compared with the previous year’s figure , of which the export value is 10.14 trillion, increasing 13.2% and the import value is 3.66 trillion, increasing 4.8%.
Li Kuiwen, spokesman of General Administration of Customs Director of the Department of Statistics and Analysis, said that the first half year of China’s foreign trade shows a strong resilience. The first quarter started smoothly, and in May and June, the foreign trade quickly reversed the downward trend of growth in April, when it was severely affected by the pandemic. At present, the covid-19 epidemic situation and the international environment are becoming more serious and complex, our country’s foreign trade development still faces some instability and uncertainty. However, we must also see that the fundamentals of our resilient and potential economy remain unchanged. With the country’s economic stability, a package of economic policy measures to take effect, the resumption of production, orderly progress, our foreign trade is expected to continue to maintain stability and growth.
