What is Anchor Bolts?

Anchor Bolts, also called bent bolts, Foundation bolts, are a type of long threaded bolts, straight or bent in different styles, used for anchoring steel profiles and plates to concrete. They are coupled with hex nuts and plate washers to secure the joint, which are often used in bent profile such as J and L. Anchor bolts comes in many types, sizes, and external coatings, depending upon its application.

The material options include carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, brass, allumium, bronze and so on.

There are many types of anchor bolts, including eye foundation bolt,bent foundation bolt, I shaped anchor bolt, L or J foundation anchor bolts, rag foundation bolt, cotter foundation bolt, plate type foundation bolt etc.

Anchor bolts are mostly used to set machines on concrete flooring. Here is how the process goes:
Initially, the position of the bolts is marked on the ground. The, dimensionally accurate holes are dug in their exact positions. The bolts are then suspended on there respective holes and the concrete is poured around it . once the concrete sets, the suspensions are removed and the machine is installed.

Applications

Anchor bolts are mainly used in pre-engineered buildings manufacturing, fastening heavy machines to foundations and constructions. They are also used in process-based businesses like petrochemical, sugar, and FMCG manufacturing. It is mostly used for industrial purposes and therefore made with heavy duty stainless steel or carbon steel or other special metal materials.
